Identify the centre point of the drainage outlet and accurately transfer this measurement to the corresponding location on the wedi Balcono Line Module.
Using a power drill fitted with a hole saw, carefully cut an opening in the wedi Balcono Line Module. The hole must precisely align with the drainage outlet to ensure a proper fit and effective water flow.
1. Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and free from contaminants such as oil, wax, grease, or dust, which can act as bond breakers.
2. Dampen the substrate using clean water and a sponge to activate the surface.
3. Apply wedi 321 Superbond Lite Adhesive using the flat side of a notched trowel to key into the surface and achieve full coverage.
4. Using a 10mm square-notch trowel, apply additional adhesive to the substrate where the wedi Balcono Line Module will be positioned. Ensure even, parallel troweling.
5. Apply the same adhesive to the underside of the wedi Balcono Line Module using identical troweling direction for consistency.
6. Apply a continuous bead of wedi 620 Joint Sealant around the puddle flange.
1. Firmly press the wedi Balcono Line Module into place, ensuring it is level and that there are no voids.
2. Apply even pressure or place weight (e.g., blocks) on the installed piece to allow the adhesive to cure undisturbed.
Continue the same method as Images 4, 5 & 6 to install additional Extension Panel 1 and Extension Panel 2 units side by side. Ensure each joint is tight and flush for continuity.

Apply wedi 620 Sealant into the internal corner where the wedi Balcono Wall Piece meets the wall using a fine-toothed trowel.
1. Embed the wedi Balcono Wall Piece directly over the internal junction of the wall and floor.
2. Use a flat trowel to firmly press the corner piece into the sealant bed, ensuring 100% coverage and eliminating all air bubbles.
3. Tool off any excess sealant to ensure a clean, watertight finish.
1. Apply wedi 620 Sealant along the join of the channel piece where the wedi Balcono Line Module pieces meet.
2. Embed the wedi Balcono Floor Extender Piece directly over the centre of the wedi Balcono Line Module join.
3. Use a flat trowel to firmly press the wedi Balcono Floor Extender Piece into the sealant bed, ensuring 100% coverage and eliminating all air bubbles.
4. Tool off any excess sealant to ensure a clean, watertight finish.
1. Apply wedi 620 Sealant along the internal junction where the wedi Balcono Line Module meets the wall junction.
2. Embed the wedi Sealing Tape centred over this junction, ensuring any overlap is a minimum 50 mm.
3. Press the tape into the sealant using a flat trowel, ensuring full surface contact and no trapped air bubbles.
1. Apply wedi 620 Sealant at all wedi Balcono Line Module to wedi Extension
1 Piece junctions using a fine toothed trowel. This shall overlap the channel joining pieces.
2. Embed wedi Sealing Tape directly over the centre of each junction.
3. Use a flat trowel to press the tape firmly into the sealant for 100% coverage, eliminating bubbles.
1. Apply wedi 620 Sealant at all internal wall-to floor corners and along all joins in the Balcono system using a fine-toothed trowel.
2. Embed wedi Subliner Dry Tape directly over the centre of each junction.
3. Use a flat trowel to press the tape firmly into the sealant for 100% coverage, eliminating bubbles.
4. Smooth off any excess sealant for a clean, watertight finish.
1. Apply wedi 620 Sealant to where the drain opening adjoins the puddle flange ensuring a watertight seal.
2. The installation of a channel drain shall be performed per the manufacturer’s instructions and aligned with wedi’s technical guidelines.
Before applying any tile system:
• Allow all components of the wedi Balcono System to fully cure before installing a tiling system.
• Flood testing is recommended.
