Underfloor heating systems

Floor application for wedi building board

The wedi building boards are also ideally suited for inserting underfloor heating. The good insulation properties of the building boards keep the heat away from the floor and direct it into the room. It is independent of whether it is a water-carrying heating system or an electrical execution.

Note for electrical resistance heating

Electric underfloor heating can be installed on already laid and reinforced elements (e.g. wedi building boards, Fundo floor elements, Sanoasa benches, Sanoasa lounger) according to the manufacturer's specifications. Only heaters approved for this area may be used.

Mark channels/grooves for installing the heating system on the wedi building board.

Cut out grooves with the router. The trimming width should be the same as the pipe width, the trimming depth should be at least 3 mm deeper.
Place the pipes in the groove. Fill the pipe ducts with tile adhesive, e.g. wedi 320 tile adhesive.
Apply wedi tools self-adhesive reinforcement tape 600 mm to the entire area. The tile size should not be less than 10 x 10 mm.
For the water-carrying systems, channels can be quickly and easily milled into the building board and other wedi elements. Thus, the building board is thermal insulation as well as installation base in one.
Electric underfloor heating is easy to install on the building board, preventing heat loss downwards and making the heating system much more effective.
