Since 1970, Schloss Montabaur has served as a nationwide center for the management qualification of high potentials, prospective and current executives as well as executive boards of Raiffeisen-
and Volksbanken as well as cooperative goods, trade and service cooperatives.
The Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften also operates a four-star hotel with around 300 rooms in Montabaur Castle. With over 70,000 overnight stays, Montabaur Castle is one of the largest hotel establishments in Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 2007, overnight stays have also been possible for individuals.

Time was an important factor. During the ongoing operation of the hotel, the construction work had to be carried out quickly. According to the architect's drawings, wedi created approval drawings and then the elements were made to measure partly from building boards and bent, partly from the full foam cut. The relaxation tube alone consists of 27 individual parts, which only had to be glued together and fused or plastered on site.
It was a combination of the wedi material and the high degree of prefabrication that made it possible to meet the specified time frame of only three months of conversion time on time. Had the elements been worked on at the construction site to make them resistant to moisture, steam and water, and had to build all forms on site by hand, not only the time schedule but also the cost schedule would have been out of hand.
